SUPERALLOY HEAT TREATMENT

Superalloys (FE, Ni, Co based) are used in high temperature parts subjected to intense stress, such as turbines and the mechanical parts of high performance engines, used primarily in the aeronautics and power industries.

Superalloy treatments can be divided into:

• Annealing, to eliminate tensions due to working
• Solubilisation, the aim of which is to dissolve the precipitable phases, followed by precipitation (aging).
• Aging, to precipitate the hardening phase, so as to maximise the part's mechanical specifications.
